We came to realize that youth soccer in America, if not totally broken, does not serve our children well. There are 2 basic models, dad coach and club soccer. With dad soccer, even when the coach knows the game, there is a big difference between playing soccer and coaching it, which leads to a lack of development. The club soccer approach is modeled after professional academies. Not enough time is spent on development, and team performance is placed above individual performance. Our Why is the goal of creating a soccer experience that is child-centric and optimized for development and fun.
Our Philosophy
We look to inner cities all over the world for inspiration. Panther Soccer accelerates development by recreating the environments from around the world that have produced great players for a century. From the alleys of Ashington, England, and the favelas of Brazil, to the concrete jungles of Paris, these spaces—with their tiny areas, countless rebound opportunities, and non-stop play—have enhanced ball mastery and situational awareness for generations of players.
Our Methods
The environment a player trains in is the key aspect of development. We have developed small, walled and netted fields to maximize each player’s time with the ball. In a small space, players must think fast, play fast and have great close control of the ball. We maximize the time each player has a ball during our practices. All our activities are designed for a maximum of 1 ball per 2 players. We only scrimmage 3v3 and 4v4 in the facility, again to maximize player involvement with the ball.
